Understand field labels, required information, button actions and the message visitors see after a form.

On this page

Before you start

Open the campaign’s Edit tab and select a form screen. Basic forms and linear screens are available in Free; conditional questions, branching and quiz results require Pro. Available controls depend on the screen and campaign goal.

Use email signup, phone capture or enquiries for complete task guides.

Make each field understandable

Field and wording controls
SettingWhat it means
LabelSay what visitors should enter. Keep the meaning visible while they type.
PlaceholderAn example or hint inside the input. It disappears during typing and should not replace the label.
RequiredDecide whether the visitor must provide this information. Some capture fields are necessary for the selected signup.
Ask for their nameAdds a name field where supported. Ask only if you will use it.
Interest choicesLet visitors choose from meaningful labels. These choices are not conditional quiz routing.
Consent wording and privacy noticeExplain the intended use of details and link the appropriate policy. Match the wording to the destinations actually configured.

Select a field in the canvas or element list to edit its Content. Select the screen to review the Form settings. Do not use a placeholder such as “Email” as the only explanation of a required field.

Read the action as well as the label

Select the button, then open Change what this button does. The menu offers actions that fit the screen; some can be unavailable. A label such as “Get the guide” does not configure a download or email.

Write the acknowledgement and test it

  1. Select the acknowledgement screen, such as Received, and check the previous screen’s Then destination.
  2. Write a message that describes the confirmed step: “We’ve received your details.” Only promise delivery after configuring and testing it.
  3. Use Preview → Try the form. Try an empty required field, then valid details. Check the next screen and any Back, Skip or Close button.
  4. Publish the intended changes and complete one live test. Verify the saved submission and any receiving service separately.
