Getting started

What it does, what you need and where to begin.

What can I do with WConvert?

Build popups and inline forms inside WordPress to collect email addresses, phone numbers and enquiries. Start with a ready-made design, choose when it appears and keep the captured leads on your site. You can also promote offers, share a download or connect a supported service for follow-up.

What do I need to use it?

A WordPress website that allows you to install plugins, running WordPress 6.8 or later and PHP 8.1 or later. WConvert runs on your own hosting. You don’t need WooCommerce unless you want the WooCommerce-specific Pro features.

Do I need an account or an email marketing service?

You don’t need a WConvert account or an outside marketing service to collect and manage leads with Free. Connecting a service is optional. If you choose one, you’ll need its required plugin or account and a working sending setup.

Where can I download or buy WConvert?

Visit Get WConvert for the Free WordPress.org link, release availability and Pro purchase options, plus the requirements for your site.

Free, Pro & billing

Choose the right edition, with clear expectations about price and terms.

What’s the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes popups, inline forms, visual editing, linear multistep campaigns, basic display rules, local analytics and lead management. Pro adds more formats, conditional journeys and quizzes, advanced targeting, A/B testing, WooCommerce features and additional integrations. All Pro site options include the same Pro features.

Is Free a trial that expires?

No. Free is a standalone edition with no subscription fee or timed Pro trial. Use its included features without a paid license. If you need Pro features later, Pro is a separate add-on that works alongside the free plugin.

How much does Pro cost? Are there sending fees?

Pro is priced annually in USD: $49 for 1 site, $99 for up to 5 sites, $199 for unlimited sites. Email and SMS sending fees, external subscriptions and your hosting are separate. Applicable taxes and the final total will be shown before payment.

Can I use WConvert on client websites?

Yes. Choose a Pro option that covers the number of sites you need: one, up to five or unlimited. Each site has its own campaigns and leads. On WordPress multisite, activate WConvert per site rather than across the whole network; there isn’t a central dashboard for managing all your client sites.

Will Pro renew automatically? What happens if I don’t renew?

Pro subscriptions renew automatically each year. You can cancel future renewals in your WConvert account before the next billing date; access continues through the paid term. After the paid term expires, Pro updates, product support and new premium-template downloads stop. Installed Pro features, designs and campaigns keep working. Keep backups and check compatibility before updating WordPress or other plugins.

Can I get a refund if Pro isn’t right for me?

Yes. Every Pro site option includes a 14-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. Contact [email protected] within 14 days of purchase with your order reference and purchase email to request a full refund.

Building & showing campaigns

Design, placement and a considerate experience for your visitors.

Do I need to code or start from a blank canvas?

No coding is required for the built-in campaign editor. Start from a goal and ready-made design, then change the words, colors, fields and artwork. Preview desktop and phone layouts before publishing. Free also lets you export a design and import it on another site.

Will it work with my theme or page builder?

Popups appear on the pages you choose. Inline campaigns can be placed using the WConvert campaign block or a shortcode, including in page builders that support shortcodes. Test your campaign with your own theme, caching and plugins before launch; we don’t claim compatibility with every possible combination.

Can I stop a popup appearing on every visit?

Yes. Choose where and when campaigns appear, limit repeat appearances and set site-wide visitor limits. Free includes delay, scroll and inactivity triggers, page and device rules, and schedules. Pro adds options such as exit intent and advanced targeting.

Can I ask for email first and make SMS optional?

Yes. Free supports linear multistep campaigns, such as email signup followed by an optional phone-number step. Make each request clear so visitors can choose what to share. For paths or results that change based on someone’s answers, use Pro’s conditional journeys and quizzes.

Leads, privacy & connections

Know where your data goes and what happens after a signup.

Does WConvert send newsletters and SMS messages?

Your connected email or SMS service handles newsletters, messages and follow-up automations. WConvert captures the lead and passes the configured details to a supported destination. Separately, Free can email a lead-magnet download link through your WordPress mail setup; delivery depends on that configuration.

Where are my leads stored? Can I export them?

Captured leads are stored in your WordPress database, with their submitted details and campaign context. The lead log includes search, filters and CSV export. If you connect an external service, configured contact details are also sent to that service, which manages its own copy.

What controls do I have over consent and stored data?

WConvert can record the exact consent wording shown with a submission. You can choose a retention period and use WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools. These controls help you manage your setup; your form wording, contact permissions and connected services still need to fit how your business uses the data.

Which integrations are included, and what does “Soon” mean?

MailPoet is included in Free and requires its WordPress plugin. Mailchimp, Brevo, Mailtrap, Webhooks, Zapier (via webhooks) are included in Pro. Email providers require service accounts; webhooks need a publicly reachable receiver URL and work with Zapier, Make, n8n or your own code. WSMS, Klaviyo, HubSpot native connectors are marked Soon: they’re planned, aren’t included yet and have no announced release date.

Help & troubleshooting

The next step when you need a hand.

How do I get help, and what does Pro support cover?

Start at our support page or email [email protected]. Pro includes 24/7 product support for installation, configuration and reproducible WConvert issues on covered sites. Custom development and unrelated hosting or plugin issues are outside that scope. There is no fixed response-time guarantee. Free users can also contact us through the support page.

Why isn’t my campaign appearing?

Check that it’s published, that the page and device match its display rules, and that its schedule and visitor limits allow it to appear. An inline campaign also needs its block or shortcode placed on the page. Test on your published site and include the page URL and what you expected when asking for help.
