Deactivate or uninstall WConvert
Choose between pausing the plugin and permanently removing its data, with clear steps for sites using Pro.

Choose the action you need
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Unpublish one campaign | Stops that campaign while leaving the plugin and its other campaigns available. |
| Deactivate WConvert | Stops the plugin while preserving stored campaigns, leads and settings for reactivation. |
| Delete WConvert | Runs permanent cleanup of its own data, settings and generated assets. There is no keep-data option in this uninstall workflow. |
| Remove Pro only | Removes the add-on and its own tracking/license configuration; it does not run WConvert Free’s campaign-table cleanup. Pro-dependent features become unavailable. |
For a single campaign, use publish and pause controls. This guide is for plugin-level maintenance on a single WordPress site.
Deactivate temporarily
- Open Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- If Pro is active, deactivate WConvert Pro first.
- Deactivate WConvert. Clear page caches and check affected pages.
- When ready to resume, activate WConvert first, then Pro.
- Check previously published campaigns on their actual pages, then test one submission and any destination.
Previously published campaigns can also become available again. Deactivation does not rewrite each campaign as an unpublished draft.
Remove permanently
- Review pages that contain WConvert blocks, shortcodes or locked-content sections. Replace or remove those placements as needed.
- If Pro is installed, deactivate and delete Pro first.
- Deactivate WConvert, choose its Delete action and confirm WordPress’s removal prompt.
- Clear caches and review the affected pages on desktop and mobile.
Uninstall cleanup is limited to plugin-owned data. It does not erase copies already sent to mailing services, downloaded exports or your backups. Handle those separately when required.
Check after removal
Confirm that the removed plugin is no longer listed, pages render sensibly and no old popup remains in cached content. A content lock is not a secure paywall: review what visitors can read when its campaign or plugin is unavailable.
Installing WConvert again after deletion starts with new plugin data unless you restore a backup. Check the backup you intend to restore before reinstalling.
If your goal is only to remove one person’s records, use personal-data erasure rather than uninstalling the plugin.
Include your WConvert version, the page you tested and any error message.
