Update WConvert and Pro
Prepare a backup, replace plugin files without deleting campaign data and run a practical check after an update.

Before you start
You need permission to update WordPress plugins and the intended WConvert release. If you use Pro, check the compatibility requirements for both plugins and obtain the appropriate Pro package or update access.
Make a recoverable backup of the database and site files. Use a staging copy to test the release with your theme, WooCommerce and connected services. A campaign design export is useful for moving designs, but is not a full backup of leads, connections or site settings.
Install the intended release
- Open Plugins → Installed Plugins. Note the current WConvert and Pro versions.
- If WordPress offers an update for the intended release, review its details and use its update action.
- If you have a ZIP, open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin. Select the correct package and choose Install Now.
- When WordPress identifies an installed copy, review the current and uploaded versions before choosing Replace current with uploaded.
- Repeat for Pro when the release requires it, following the release’s compatibility instructions. Confirm that both required plugins are active.
Pro is an add-on and still needs WConvert. If its row says Activate your license to get updates, resolve update access or use a package obtained through your authorized account. Reinstalling the same files does not establish license eligibility.
Check the result on staging
- Confirm the displayed versions and open WConvert → Campaigns.
- Check that your existing campaigns, destinations and leads are still present.
- Open a representative campaign in the editor. Check desktop and mobile content.
- Clear relevant page/CDN caches. On the actual published page, test placement, opening rules and a real submission.
- Find the saved lead and verify any destination separately. If you use Pro or WooCommerce features, test one of those workflows too.
Once staging passes, follow the same update process on the live site and repeat the essential checks. Keep your backup until the post-update checks pass.
If an update fails
Read the WordPress error before retrying. Check that the ZIP contains the intended plugin, the upload finished and the release supports your WordPress/PHP versions. Keep the backup and the prior working package available.
If the site or forms stop working, use your host’s restore process for the matching database and files. Do not repeatedly replace packages while visitors submit data. Include the versions, error and reproduction steps when contacting support.
Include your WConvert version, the page you tested and any error message.
